A bombshell named War was dropped by Siddharth Anand ironically on Gandhi Jayanti and it blasted the box office like no other film. War has grossed 400 crore globally becoming the highest-earning film of 2019.
The movie starring Hritik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in the main lead has broken records of the Biggest opening for Hritik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and director Siddharth Anand individually too. It gave a head-on fight to its rival films like Joaquin Phoenix starrer ‘Joker’ and Chiranjeevi starrer period drama ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’. Despite of such huge films, War went on to create history.
It has become the 10th top-grossing film ever, leaving films like Kabir Singh, Tiger Zinda hai, Dhoom 3 and Sultan behind. The experts forecast that it will be among Top 10 films within the next 2 days.
The War has crossed $11.20 million (Rs.79.80 crore) internationally. In the US, it has raked in $3.641 mn, in UK$729k mn and in UAE $4.060 respectively, mentioned trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The War has done a worldwide box office collection of over Rs.400 crore.
The film earned Rs.51.50 crore on Wednesday, Rs.22.50 crore on Thursday and of Rs.21 crore on its first Friday. The 3 days have proved to be the highest grosser in history. The action scenes and direction have won the praise of experts from all over the industry. Additionally, the impeccable background score and foot shaking music have added fuel to the fire. Hrithik Roshan as Kabir and Tiger Shroff as Khalid, The hunted and the hunter, surpass expectations. Ashutosh Rana is also his best self as their mentor. Vaani Kapoor is in a supporting role looking super chic. How many more records War breaks is yet to be seen.
