Previous year’s runners up team this year will start their game against Chennai Super kings in Mumbai, on Saturday 10th April. This will be the second match of this year’s IPL season.
Playing venues
BCCI has officially announced that only six venues will host the full IPL season and IPL will start from 9th April and will end on 30th May. Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Ahmedabad will be the six venues this year. But this year they will play only on four grounds these grounds will be Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Mumbai.
They will play their first three matches in Mumbai and then their next two matches will be played in Chennai, and after that the next 4 matches they will play in Ahmedabad, and the last five matches they will play in Kolkata. These four grounds will be the playing ground for Delhi Capitals this year.
Delhi Capitals performance
Last year their performance was quite good than the other years. Last year they reached in to the final but somehow can’t win the IPL trophy first time. Mumbai Indians beat them and become champion for the fifth time in IPL history. If Delhi Capitals win the match they will become the first time champion, but sadly it was not happened.
Last year Shreyas Iyer’s performance was too good as a batsman and as a captain also they win 8 matches out of 14 on the last season. But this time they will want to perform better than the last year and will want to win their first IPL trophy this time. So be ready to watch their matches.
Players
This year they bought the Australian great btasman Steve Smith only on INR 2.2 crores, and they bought the Indian fast bowler who can bowl at a speed of 145+ is Umesh Yadav in only INR 1 crores. They bought England pacer Tom Curran in INR 5.5 crores and in 2.2 crores they purchased Sam billings.
They also bought some low price players like Ripal Patel, Manimaran Siddarth, Vishnu, and Lukman Meriwala for just 20 lakhs each. This time with coaches like Ricky Ponting they will want to win the title this time, so this year their matches will so good to see.
